+## Fix all — what changed
+
+**1. `.gitignore` (item 1)**
+Created `memory-systems/agent-os/.gitignore` ignoring `.zvec-grep/`. Verified: the index directory no longer appears in `git status`, so it can't be committed.
+
+**2. Script defects (item 2)** — fixed in the profile copies *and* the canonical source at `AgentOS/scripts/` (both byte-identical, `bash -n` clean):
+- `git add -A .` / `git status --porcelain .` — pathspec-scoped to the vault tree. Unrelated AgentOS work no longer gets swept into "vault-sync" commits.
+- Order corrected: **commit → `git pull --rebase --autostash` → push**. `--autostash` too, since the repo legitimately holds dirty non-vault files that would otherwise block every pull.
+- **Identity per commit** via `git -c` (`VAULT_AGENT` overrides): repo-local `user.name`/`user.email` removed. Verified author on the new commits is `jimmy <jimmy@hermes.local>`, and non-vault commits now fall back to global `tonyjbala-ui` instead of being misattributed to me.
+- `vault-change-log.sh`: fixed `2>&1 > /dev/null` (redirect order) and replaced `HEAD@{24.hours.ago}` — which fails on a young reflog — with a log-derived file list.
